This type quarter designed by Herman A. MacNeil was issued from 1916-1931. The type 1 coin (1916-1917) features Liberty on the obverse and an American in-flight on the reverse. Liberty carries an upraised shield in her left hand and an olive branch in her right hand, most notably, this was the only circulating coin to feature Liberty with a bare breast.
The following year, a Liberty type 2 (1917-1930) was issued with several design changes, most notably covering Liberty's chest with chain mail and the addition of 3 stars on the reverse under the Eagle. This 1930-S Standing Liberty Quarter grades F-VF, has problem free fields and is a great hole filler.
