Mercury Dimes
In 1916, the Mercury Dime was introduced to replace the old Barber design that had been used since 1892. Designed by Adolph A. Weinman, his design features liberty wearing a winged cap. Because or the resemblance to the Roman god, Mercury, the coin became well known as the "Mercury Head"dime.
The Mercury dime series is one of the most popular collected coin today. Apart from the 1916-d and 1942 over-date, most dated are obtained with little difficulty. Certified Mercury Dimes available.
